200k a year to have them use him as the face of the competition and continuously go on and on how he’s the greatest ever.

How much does Nathan’s spend on the sponsorship and promotion of the contest - how much does ESPN pay for the broadcast rights?

I guess I’d be a bit pissed too at taking home “only” 200k - if I was the focal point of an event that’s got a few million in marketing behind it.

What is it players get in other major sports - like 40-50% of the revenue ? Professional Eating is a sport - ok - pay me like other sports. All about “equality” these days and as the sports biggest draw - he realizes until someone demands fair pay - it will not happen. It’s clear he’s the best - no need to prove it by participating in the biggest event unless they are paying fairly.
