Wow. He's getting $88M at signing. No matter what happens after that day, injury, drug bust, beating his GF, etc... That's his to keep.

What is going to be his motivation to play hard? Sure he's a pro athlete and we always believe they will give it their all but once they get their final contract in their career that is HUGE MONEY, it seems they all stop playing as hard.

Maybe every year should be a contract year and the money they save can go into a workers comp fund or similar insurance to insure them from injury.

That they are always playing for the check.

this is why everything at the ball parks cost a arm and a liver today, hell half these guys play for money and not the game itself

No, those prices are high because people will pay it and once inside the stadium don't have a choice.

These, and ticket prices, do not fluctuate with a team's payroll. The tickets are subject to market factors, not player salaries and the the concessions, while lucrative, are a 2nd and 3rd factor (pricing) marketing items.

JJ is a good dude. He will not be hitting any women or doing any drugs. Guy prob smokes a little weed but I would wager my life he doesn't use drugs. He has had no issues off the field, no personality stuff.

He's one of the few that loves the game. He is from a football family and a good family too which makes a difference. I think Minnesota should have traded him and started a rebuild which they were reports they tried to but were not successful. I am ok with them paying him though. He deserves it. Most guys I would not say that about.
