Kansas was the clear No. 1 pick in the AP Top 25 preseason men's basketball poll released Monday, earning 46 of 63 first-place votes to easily outdistance No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Purdue.

Of course Kansas gets the free pass for the payments, fraud, and corruption they were busted on... No surprise there. They should have gotten death penalty (well... may not that but at least some kind of sanctions). Instead, they were penalized NOTHING for breaking the rules. The have's keep on rolling while the have-nots get screwed.

Kind of like my Cats this year but they have a lot to prove after losing in the 2nd Round to Kansas State last year. This class is elite plus he has some upper classmen returning so I'm excited for this year. I figure if Cal can't win it all this year with this team he's never winning another one because he has the horses this year just has to actually prove it on the court.

The rankings give us idea of expectations for teams this year. That is it.
I would never use these to rate one team vs another. It's too questionable how a team is going to come out of the blocks in any given year.

you got to see how the new players blend into the team, duke has one of their best teams in yr but again we got to see how the new players work out
