MLB Plays for Today 8/23

ok so i've been eyein these two games for today, all odds from Betonline --

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7:05pm ET
austin voth is key here for the orioles - 2.27era in his last 7 outings. i don't think the white sox will be a huge threat at all, so baltimore as a dog has a lot of value to me. orioles (+119) / +1.5 (-145).

Angels vs. Rays, 7:10pm ET
i have faith in my florida team. the angels stink on the road and their lineup is a mess. root for tampa to win. rays (-170).

question though, what do you guys think about rays -1.5? its +127 at BoL

I see a lot of 1 run games lately for TB. This can be contagious through a 10 game stretch sometimes with my handicapping experience. TB is 28-34 45% on the RL @ home as well practically an even draw money wise when you’re getting plus odds. I’d just play the ML Le …

Since your a new MLB handicapper a very fundamental way to play the run line is play teams on the road more so than at home. So you know your team is getting 9 full innings to help you cash on that extra run. That’s win your laying -1.5 of course & not when it’s +1.5.

Personally, I don’t think it’s ever a good play to take the home team at -1.5. Tie game, the home team plays for 1 so often that it’s really tough to get that 2 run+ win. I see no value in it. Good luck Le! Sorry we matched up in the contest. The only positive thing is, you can say you lost to the guy who won the whole thing.
