They make like $500 a week. Went to minor league game to see Issac Collins play his mom and girl friend had flown in from back east. I meet her in Corvallis for college tournament. She was livid that they were on there own for dinner after the games. When he was in single A right after getting drafted l saw him in Washington and he had host parents that fed him. But the minors they do air B&B. It’s a tough life.

I can’t believe only $500 a week! How can they afford to live/support a family like that? 😳

It was a lot less in 1999!

But from what MLB point of view, they only work 5 months a year, 120-142 games, 4pm-10pm, there is meal money, a game day spread, opportunities to earn a few more bucks with local appearances, and the kicker- you can always get another job.

You don't have to be a baseball player.

The kids just signed the death certificate for even more clubs, this, 2 years after MILB just realigned w MLB and shut down nearly 50 ball clubs.

I bet they cut another 20% going forward.

They got signing bonuses when drafted. Jake was drafted 10th round got 170K bonus. A teammate of his drafted 4th round 450K. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
