Did you guys see this Friday night?
Giants at Diamondbacks. Walker is clapping the dugout and gets tossed in 6th.

Walker did have some choice words for umpries in the 5th with a strikeout call against him so that may have edged the umps to make this call but if you watch the video, its the umpires being too emotional/touchy and taking over the game.

Umpires should be publically graded and BERATED when they mess up. Maybe some suspensions for them would be appropriate.

I just don't see umpires being held accountable. Its crazy.

Everytime a player makes a mistake, they get penalized and its made public.
Same should hold for Umpires and their mistakes.

Umps have certain discretion and the last couple of years they have been pretty egregious and vindictive.

We never here about the league doing anything.

I posted countless examples at SBR of guys getting ringed up for strikes on clear balls and then the umps just tossing everyone that says anything.

Who would ever want to be an umpire that’s a thankless job you can never win

Fresh out of college, I started umpiring Little League games in Texas. I did it in college and it was fun so i thought I'd continue. What a mistake. I lasted 4 games. Texas parents were way different the midwest parents I was used to.

The threats from the parents and coaches wasn't worth volunteering my time. Was ready to throw fists with a couple of a$$-wipes but thought better of it. They would cuss and say they were going to "kick-my-a$$" during the game and then chase you to your car after the game.

But, If was was paid $235k/yr like MLB umpires, I'd put up with the crap AND I'd expect mistakes to be punished, like in any other job.
