Trainer Rafael Schistl made his training debut 2 meets back at Tampa. The guy hit bomb after bomb that meet. Then he moved up to Monmouth for the first time. The wins were less frequent, but when he did win, the prices were still high. He just came off another dominant Tampa meet and already has two or three wins at Monmouth. One was 19-1, and he had a second place runner at 21-1. I saw an interview where he stated his goal was to DOUBLE the amount of his Monmouth wins this year. Guy is confident, and sounds like he has a bunch ready to run. He has three in today:

Race 7
8 Nip of Bourbon 8-1
9 Papi Bello 6-1

Race 10
8 Sassy Charlee 10-1

At first glance, Nip of Bourbon’s best races have come on dirt BUT it’s only win came on grass going long at Tampa. Let’s hope it’s return to the lawn is a successful one.

Good luck to all in action today.

Update:

Schistl and his owners, Endsley Oaks Farm, have appeared to have parted ways. All Endsley horses are running at Presque Isle for the awful Aldana Gonzalez Spieth.
Schistl, meanwhile, has a couple new owners with very small stables.

Since Spieth stables at Tampa, maybe this is only temporary until that meet starts up in November.

Update: Schistl has won one race and Endsley Oaks, is o-fer since they split. Their last start together was 7/4/22, so this is a long stretch for both.

Schistl and his new owners, Kingdom Racing, have recently sent out some long ones that have done the old speed fade. I love betting horses off the speed fade, so I think it’s time to jump back on the Schistl bandwagon.
He ran second at a whopping 92-1 a few days ago.
