ok week 1 appeared to be like opposite day, but there were 3 games that stood out to me the most. so let me highlight those games and the players that stood out/i'm keeping an eye on. not sure if any of this could help fantasy players, but here we go.
starting with the Dolphins vs. Patriots. this went as expected for me, but i really think Belichick's time is done. he has his sons with him coaching and i dont think it's a good idea at all. they need to replace the three of them. this will never happen, but it would be cool to see Brady coach them. Tyreek Hill is definitely a great addition to the dolphins. sunday he had 12 targets with 8 catches, 94 yds. also, jaylen waddle was impressive; 4/5 rec for 69 yds, a 42yd 1 td, and 13.8ypt. lets compare qb's, Mac Jones completed 21 out of 30 catches for 213 yds, but did suffer a back injury in their loss. he was sacked twice, including a strip-sack resulting in a miami td. meanwhile tua completed 23/33 for 270 yds. ne simply can not run the ball too.
final score: mia 20 - 7 ne
bears vs. 49ers
let me just say, what a freaking fun game to be at, even in that rain. the first half for the bears was gross. Fields could not pass and they also could not run the ball. but they came out in the second half looking fresh and the niners looked tired from running the ball so much. for the niners, i will highlight deebo - he only completed 2/8 receptionsfor 14 yards, but he rushed 8 times for 52 yds and 1 td. player highlight for the bears will be david montgomery; although he didn't gain a lot of yards per carry, he did touch the ball the most on the field with 17 carries for 26 yds (1.5 ypc) and 3/4 receptions for 18 yds (6ypt). Also shout out to dante pettis for the 51yd td
final score: chi 19 - 10 sf
vikings vs. packers
now it was so fun to see little princess rodgers throw his fits. he no longer has his favorite weapon in davante adams, and only had 1 td for the entire game by aj dillon. he had 10 carries for 45 yds (9.8 ypc). dillon also received 5/6 targets for 46yds (7.7 ypt). meanwhile for the vikings, justin jefferson really showed out and impressed everyone. he had 9/11 receptions for 184yds (16.7ypt). in the first half alone, jefferson had 6 receptions, 158yds and 2tds while the packers all together had 101yds. and get this, he now has 5 career games with 150 rec yds, and is the only player 150 rec yds at 23yrs old or younger. definitely keep an eye out for jefferson.
