Let’s see if @flyingillini shows after pressuring me to up my river game. Little does he know I’ve been sharpening my skills in a nightly poker game that takes place in a van down by the river.

Add a Little “positive variance” to the mix and that should help up my river game.

Variance is key to winning poker long-term. Without variance you can’t be a successful poker player. It’s been proven from all the greats.

It is really bizarre and still trying to understand @KVB . We all know he is lightyears beyond Justin7 and Ganch when it comes to statistics and variance. His poker skills are second to none but his river play is like a kindergarten, I am not sure if he has a mental block when it comes to the river or not? It is very strange. Some advice for Kvbster, it is like he is resorting to back when he was learning addition in school, it is something very very strange.

When you are betting on the river, you need to consider how the hand has played out and seriously consider the possible hands your opponent may have. Think back to how the hand has been played by your opponents and try and work out what is the likely hand your opponent may have.

7 Rules for River play

1. Don't fold what could be the best hand in a big pot. ...
2. Do fold when you're certain you're beat. ...
3. Bet strong hands for value. ...
4. Only bet with made hands if you want to get called. ...
5. Induce bluffs. ...
6. Make the occasional bluff when you're certain you have the worst hand. ...
7. Avoid check/raises on the river.
