Crazy thing. Last couple of years I've been listening to podcasts at night when I'm ready to go to sleep.

One genre I like the most is true crime. The last 4-5 nights I've been listening to a great 8-part podcast about the fbi search and ultimate capture of the Unabomber

I'm always surprised that people as smart as this guy (uni-bomber) snap, or gradually digress mentally, and do crazy stuff. Its as though they are so smart, they can't emotionally handle it and go nuts. My sister in-law is a psychiatrist, she wrote a paper on a similar topic in college and we've talked about it during holiday gatherings. It is really interesting stuff what goes on in these people's minds (at least what doctors think goes on anyway).

From what I read, he was a paranoid schizophrenic. Think about it, he made bombs that blow up people he didn't even know. There's something seriously wrong with a mind like that.
He also wanted to be a woman and was frustrated that he wasn't so he took it out on other people.
