Staycation time

You guys ever do a staycation? Wife and I are doing one the next couple days. We have a room booked at the Mirage until Tuesday and we are going to see George Lopez tonight. Both the room and show tickets are comped so that's always a good thing.

You guys ever do something like this? It's always nice to get away for a couple days even if you're only staying in your own town

We’ve done like overnights in Cleveland or Charlotte when we lived in NC (each about 45 minutes an hour away).

Just do dinner - concert or a show and then cash out some of the pile of hotel points I have. It’s nice to get away and not deal with the hassle of flying - experience a semi walkable city and just be tourist near home.

Our problem was the dog sitter/boarding was costing more than anything - damn dogs probably had as nice of accommodations too/

for upstate, it's more of day trips. Like I am 20 minutes away from Saratoga and I'll go to the racetrack during the day, but I'm not sleeping over at a hotel when I can just go home or get drunk and uber home

maybe NYC, but that's not a staycation, that's 3 hours south of me. Even then I'll take the train to MSG spend the day and come home

Lake George is hour away for a great day trip

maybe Montreal, but again that's not a staycation.

Although the "vacation" is in Las Vegas, I bet it still feels like a vacation since your staying overnight somewhere. Sounds like fun. Love George Lopez. Guy is funny as hell.
