Ranking of the teams (Last week's ranking in parenthesis)

1. Chiefs (4) - Mahomes looks pissed about being Joe Burrow's son, and that could be trouble for the rest of the league. Also their defense looks revamped, and they now have more solid skill players than they did a year ago. Look out.

2. Bucs (3) - The defense looked exceptional, the ball was moving well offensively, and Brady looked in control. If they can get that kind of production out of Fournette consistently, they will win the NFC.

3. Bills (5) - That was a very impressive showing in LA. The question for Buffalo will be if it can bring that kind of energy consistently -- something both the team and Allen himself struggled with last season.

4. Rams (1) - Team looked very flat and was still partying from last year. The skill players will get in sync, as will the defense. But their offensive line could be a bit worrisome.

5. Bengals (3) - Burrow looked uncharacteristically off -- a combo of not playing plus his surgery probably. But they moved the ball well when not turning it over, and the defense looks very good. Gotta get on track these next three weeks with weaker opponents.

6. 49ers (2) - Pretty bad showing on offense all the way around and from Lance, as the weather didn't help them out. Concerning with Mitchell out. The defensive line looks amazing though. Good chance to right the ship against Seattle.

7. Ravens (7) - Offense looked a bit flat for most of this game before some big plays in the 3rd, let the Jets hang around for a while. The defense looked great for a lot of the game. Great to see that crew healthy again.

8. Chargers (13) - Maybe too big of a jump for a game that they won more because of opponent miscues. But the defense looked a bit better against the run and Herbert was very efficient. Good start, let's see what happens Thursday night.

9. Packers (8) - Not sure why this team seems to suck at the beginning. Good illustration of why to play in the preseason. Their O-Line will be better, and their defense is going to be good. Not time to panic.

10. Patriots (9) - Turnovers really did them in. The score looks lopsided but I actually thought they did a decent job moving the ball. They abandoned the run too early though. They'll be OK I think.

11. Vikings (18) - Perhaps an overreaction to a statement Week 1 win, but there are a lot of things to like. They can stay in this area if they are consistent -- good test in Philly on MNF.

12. Eagles (16) - Impressed by the offense, and Hurts does look a bit better. Brown clearly gonna help them. They can stay here if they continue to have that balance. Defense a little concerning though.

13. Dolphins (19) - First look at Tua with this crew, and I thought he looked very comfortable. Will the offensive line be able to keep him feeling that way? Baltimore will be a nice test

14. Titans (11) - Kind of inexplicable collapse. They looked in control of the game for much of it and Tannehill was OK, but they have some holes to fill in the middle of that defense. Buffalo on MNF will not be easily, obviously.

15. Raiders (12) - I worry about the offensive line a bit. I thought the defense was OK. Good to see Carr/Adams on same page, but Carr unfortunately made too many mistakes.

16. Colts (14) - Good rally at the end, but man did this team look out of sync against a pretty bad team in Houston. Are we sure Ryan is an upgrade?

17. Cowboys (10) - Dropping em quite a bit with the Dak news, but I don't think they are as dead as people want you to think. They played a great defense, and just looked flat. Dallas has a good defense and solid roster, they will be frisky without Dak.

18. Cardinals (15) - I know it's KC, but that defense looked flat and uninspired. The whole culture feels like a mess, though they have too much talent to completely suck

19. Broncos (17) - The loss to the Seahawks might surprise some, but it didn't for me. Wilson just isn't that awesome, and the defense overrated. But the offensive line looked pretty good most of the night and they should bounce back in Week 2.

20. Steelers (22) - Gotta give the team I hate credit. Lot of playmakers on defense and their offense made just enough plays to not blow the big turnover margin. But Watt out is huge, and they are quite limited talent-wise.

21. Commanders (21) - Week 1 kind of what we should expect. They're gonna be a team that flirts around the .500 mark, and plays good/bad for stretches of games. That should've been a convincing win, but a win's a win.

22. Saints (20) - Hell of a rally, but pretty concerning to be down 16 to the Falcons in the 4th quarter. Lot of surprising holes on the defensive end, which is a bit troubling.

23. Browns (23) - They looked solid for stretches, but also looked way too vulnerable. It's a good roster, but Brisset looked pretty iffy to me. I think you'll see a lot of close games for them. They have a nice kicker though!

24. Seahawks (25) - Feels good to see them win. Their offense is going to be better than people think. Geno has a good arm and he has a nice receiver duo. The defense looked very soft though and made some mistakes, but happy to see them force those fumbles and hang on.

25. Bears (26) - The team is pretty devoid of talent, especially on offense. But nice to see Fields make some plays in those conditions. He is a gamer even if limited at the NFL level.

26. Panthers (24) - They are going to struggle this year if they can't find solutions on the offensive line. They did seem to get into more of a groove as the game progressed at least.

27. Lions (27) - There are nice things on the offensive side and they look better. But they still have too many holes defensively to be that competitive.

28. Giants (30) - Always nice to see Barkley out there, he's good when healthy. But this team was fortunate to be in this game and have a chance to pull it out. To their credit, they seized the opportunity. Very winnable game at home against Carolina in Week 2 to potentially start 2-0!

29. Texans (32) - I probably shouldn't have put this team last in my rankings last week, I admit. They are well-coached and Mills is actually pretty decent. Their defense hung in there as long as it could. Hopefully they can stay competitive all year.

30. Falcons (31) - Unfortunate that they couldn't hold on after being so frisky all game. Their defense actually looked pretty good for long stretches of this game.

31. Jets (28) - The game wasn't as bad as the score would indicate, but they simply just lack some talent. It'll be nice to see if their young players progress throughout the year. Defense actually played pretty OK for most of it.

32. Jaguars (29) - Frankly they didn't have much business being on the cusp of winning this game. They're in the basement for now, though I do think they will get better.

Great write-up but think you are way off here. For starters, Rams are just not that good. We all witnessed the reason why Vegas had them as only being -230 to make the playoffs BEFORE the Bills game.

With or without Dak, many of the teams you have ranked worse are better than Dallas. It appears Parsons may be the only player to actually care to play for that coach. Parsons came from Penn State and that is his work ethic and not necessarily playing for the coach. The team will go nowhere as long as McCarthy is coaching them regardless of who is at QB.

Chargers at 13 was a joke to begin with as was where Buffalo was last week. Chargers are top 5 easy if not top 3(KC, Buffalo).

Tampa impressed me offensively even with an uncertain Godwin. Julio looks heathy and fast and Fournette like his college days but more mature and a trusted blocker. With that said, still outside my top 5. AFC is just too strong. Mark it down. SAINTS WILL WIN OUTRIGHT THIS WEEK.

We are just gonna have to disagree here.

A lot of good teams come out of the gate slow. The Rams will get better. I think this weekend showed a lot of teams who basically passed on the preseason came out a little slower than normal. The Rams are the champs, they have a very strong roster all the way around aside from offensive line, and I think they are still a top 5 team....for now. That game meant a lot more to Buffalo I think.

I don't agree about Dallas. I think they still have a very solid roster, and are a tad underrated on the defensive end. I don't think this week is going to be a walk in the park for my Bengals, even without Dak. They are still a .500ish level team to me which is why I have them right around the middle.

The Chargers need to prove they can win big games before they are that far up. I could argue I'm being generous given they won a game by 5 points at home with TO margin of +3 and some generous officiating. A lot of people fall for the Chargers every year, and I don't get why. Their defense is solid but not great, and Herbert is a top 5 or 6 QB but let's not act like he's Brady or something. Their run game got stifled by a mediocre run defense....that's gotta change

Bucs are very solid all the way around. I would pick them over Buffalo in a neutral site match-up. The Bills have the tendency to be inconsistent, as displayed last year. If Josh Allen doesn't have a demonstrably better season than last year (decent start), they aren't sniffing a Super Bowl.

Based on what?

People gotta learn that you when add x,y,z in the offeseason that you don't automatically become a contender. Doesn't work that way

Chargers had a lot of hype last year and they got curb-stomped by the Texans late in season and missed the playoffs cuz of their dumb coach

They are the textbook definition of a paper tiger

If they play the way they did Sunday against the Chiefs, they will get demolished. I think they do show up to play better Thursday
