It's his right right I mean we should honor it. Some people think it's wrong so they don't wear the colors or patches no big deal it's not like he's wearing a shirt that says Gays deserve to be killed

I hope I don't get fun poked at me for telling you all this but here's a story....

When I was younger I was hit on by gay men many times and I'm not making this up

One was even married

But I've never had a problem with it

I'm not one of those guys who want to act macho and say oh I'm going to kick his ass for hitting on me

Actually any sensible & intelligent person with stop and think it's actually flattering LOL

I've never had a problem with homosexual people at all and I've even dated a couple bisexual girls until I figured out that wasn't for me

But the way it is today is nonsense

Back then gay people didn't want to be in the spotlight they just wanted to be accepted

Now some of them (not all) want all of the attention on them as if they are actually better than everyone else

As for transsexuals, that's a whole different story

I hope I don't offend anyone

Your thoughts?
I’m gonna put as much effort as you did creating this thread with two words & a link. Zero fukks given regarding those men who declined to wear the pride logo. Actually that took more of an effort.

It doesn't matter to me if they wear the patches or not. It is there choice. It appears they made this decision on religous beliefs so that's cool.

The only thing that matters to me is if there is any disruption to team chemistry as a result of this. The manager said there wasn't but you never know with stuff like this. I would hate to see the Rays start to lose some games because the club house is a mess player in-fighting over this topic.

Being from the Bay Area I’ve worked with many a gay people not so much directly but within the company. I didn’t like it but over the years I guess I evolved. No matter what nationality color sexual preferences everyone deserves equal rights liberty and justice for all. Like my mom used to say HATE is a very strong word.

I just read an article that the Rays may have violated MLB rules when some players did not wear the rainbow patch on their uniforms. Uniforms cannot be modified and if the team agreed to wear the patch then it is part of their official uniform. Hmmmm. This could get interesting.

They referred to jackie Robinson day when all players were required to wear 42. If someone did not, they would have been fined.

People's freedom of speech stops at the workplace door or in this case the stadium gate. Freedom of speech is not applicable while at work. People can say/do whatever they want (within limits of their contract) outside of work but must follow their employers rules while at work. If they don't like the teams philosopy or rules, it's time to find another job.

The problem is some think nobody else has a right to chose not to follow.

This is America, we have freedoms to and freedoms not to.

Nobody should push any view one way or the other.

We are not communist.
Same goes with pro life pro choice religion and political party. Everyone go home and wallow in your solace and leave me alone. LOL
