Horrible record there 45-25 overall and 27-22 in SEC play. Terrible for a team consistently in top-5 nationally recruiting.

Fisher fired by Texas A&M, to get record buyout

Texas A&M fired football coach Jimbo Fisher on Sunday morning, a move that resets the paradigm for coaching buyouts and opens up one of the country's most tantalizing jobs.

Contract was fully guaranteed and is more than double previous all-time high buyout payed to any head coach.

Guy was a genius for doping powers that be at the school for fully guaranteeing his contract a few years back when a few good jobs opened up elsewhere.

I’ll bet this example and the Tucker situation at Michigan State (guy had a huge guaranteed contract as well - although since he was fired for cause likely they’ll reach a settlement down the line in court) will end these crazy long-term guaranteed contracts for coaches except in extreme circumstances (ie Saban and Kirby).

I guess if he wins, it would be Ok but, damn. There are so many racist SOBs in this state, I can't imagine the social media backlash.

Sumlin took a beating when he was at A&M for 6 years.
