Agreed Genie. Lifelong Longhorns fan here. He was really building a potentially great program but you just can’t do the things he did

IDK... This seems messed up.

The fiance denied the claim that she was strangled. Sure the assault may have actually happened and she thought twice about getting him in trouble after calling the police but, without a victim/witness in the case, how are they going to get a prosecution? She even said she never told police she was strangled and stated he acted in "self-defense".... I know, I know, thats likely all BS to cover up the crime but, how does he get prosecuted?

So, it will likely end up with the charges being dropped. Then what? He'll be picked up by some other G5 school and Texas will be without a very good coach that has a clean record.

Guaranteed he will be a coach next year somewhere.

Travis County DA Jose Garza said that after a review of the evidence, and considering the wishes of Beard's fiancee, his office determined the charge of assault by strangulation/suffocation-family violence could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

However... Isn't Texas playing better since his departure?

Wondering if he’ll be paid that huge contract now. Wasn’t there something in his contract though that stated he could be fired for cause if accused of something like this? Or was it charged? I know it was less than convicted
