It was quite a night for the Golden State Warriors and Florida Panthers as they continued to win. Not such a good night for Mike Budenholzer who was fired by Milwaukee after a great regular season and a postseason flameout. There is a betting scandal in college baseball and we have the latest details. This and a recap of betting last night and along with this weekend’s best trends and free picks for you.
About Last Night…
NBA
Steve Kerr might not be able to start a franchise and build from the ground up (though we don’t know that for sure) but give him a top-quality team and he’ll make the necessary adjustments like last night. The bold move of starting JaMychal Green in place of Kevin Looney was genius.The offense was so spread and flowing because of adding another scorer, Los Angeles tried to double-team certain players and got torched. On defense, the Warriors attacked everyone but LeBron James, and once again as we witnessed Anthony Davis get frustrated by having a hand in his face and missing shots, he mailed it in. Golden State outscored 83-47 in the middle quarters to even up the series.
On Wednesday, Boston blew out Philadelphia as most presumed even with Joe Embiid returning. Embiid looked tentative and his play has to be at least 95% for the Sixers to make this a series. Game 3 is massive for Philly and a first-half bet on them might be the way to go before Embiid’s knee might weaken in the second half.
NHL
Still cannot decide if Florida is this good or just things are going their way. Down 0-1, Toronto scored two quick goals to take a lead and it felt having them at -185 was the right choice. But as we have seen all postseason, the Panthers don’t get flustered and stay on the attack and start taking away elements of what their opponents like to do to stall their offense.Their scouting reports also have to be top-shelf as they know the exact weakness of every goalie they are facing and exploit it. Up 2-0 and heading home, hard not to think Florida reaches the East Finals. BetOnline now has the Panthers as -290 favorites to beat Toronto in the series.
Dallas at least got one game back to even the series with Seattle and Kraken fans will be going wild for the next two games.
MLB
The Boston Red Sox swept Toronto at home in four games. The Red Sox despite losing key offensive contributors are third in baseball in scoring at 5.9 RPG and their bullpen is 9th in run prevention. A dangerous team right now.If you had Detroit sweeping the New York Mets when they faced Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander in the series, you get a cookie.
The Cubs completed their seven-game road trip and went 1-6 after losing three of four at Washington. Of Chicago’s six setbacks, five were by one run. That’s frustrating.

College Baseball – Alabama Baseball Betting Scandal Continues to Unfold
What started out as curiosity early in the week about Alabama men’s baseball has turned into a major story. Reports emerged betting Bama baseball was suspended in Ohio because of strange occurrences.It is turning out a person friendly with then Crimson Tide head coach Brad Bohannon, who pulled his starting pitcher for back tightness against #1 LSU, and a man who placed wagers with a BetMGM Sportsbook at the Cincinnati Reds’ home ballpark in person after allegedly speaking to Bohannon. LSU jumped to an 8-1 lead before hanging on to win 8-6 on April 28, with the bettor on the Tigers at -245.
Bohannon was fired and now daily new details are coming out. Reportedly, none of the players or other coaches at Alabama were aware of what was happening. Stay tuned.
NBA – Bucks Fire Mike Budenholzer
In a move that was not a complete shock, Milwaukee fired Budenholzer. Yes, the Bucks did win an NBA title but they were also dismissed sooner than expected at least twice in the NBA Playoffs.Budenholzer is not a Top 5 coach but he’s in the Top 10 for sure, so thinking his replacement will be the answer for an aging Milwaukee team does not guarantee success.
Nick Nurse seems like the obvious choice but nothing is guaranteed.
Of the four past teams to win an NBA title, only Steve Kerr is employed with the same team today.
