We shouldn’t be shocked anymore by what the Miami Heat does, but even as it unfolds as it did in Game 2, we are still caught off guard. We dig deeper into this and have a chart that explains Miami’s success. While a rumor is nothing more than that, some interesting ones involving the Big 12/Pac-12 have people talking about these conferences again. We also recap the weekend in baseball and have a horse story that is incredible.
About Last Weekend…
NBA
Denver looked on their way to a 2-0 lead when up eight points after three periods. Then Miami did what they have done the entire postseason, be undeterred. The Heat heated up and outscored the Nuggets 36-25 in the final 12 minutes and once again did this. That 61 points also helped/ruined the total on the contest for bettors everywhere.
Miami ended up shooting 17-of-35 from behind the arc and their ball movement seemed to fluster Denver.
Erik Spoelstra made two bold choices. First, it was playing Kevin Love more to add size and let Nikola Jokic shoot the ball instead of being a facilitator. The Joker scored 41 points, and the Nuggets are 0-3 when he reaches 40 points and 13-1 when he doesn’t this postseason.
Denver coach Mike Malone didn’t mince words about his team. “Let’s talk about effort," Malone said. “I mean, this is the NBA Finals and we’re talking about effort. That’s a huge concern of mine. You guys probably thought I was just making up some storyline after Game 1 when I said we didn't play well. We didn't play well... This is not the preseason. This is not the regular season. This is the NBA Finals.”
Denver is a 2.5-point road favorite currently for the all-important Game 3 Wednesday.
NHL
Though Florida was hanging around at 2-2 in Game 1, there was something missing. The Panthers were not playing with the same energy and discipline after nine days off and Vegas put them away 5-2 in the series opener. The biggest in-game takeaway was Florida committing seven penalties and the Golden Knights scoring twice after they had been so strong in the postseason killing penalties. And Vegas’ weak penalty killers were a perfect 3-0 in preventing goals.
Tonight is a massive game for Florida and they are a bigger underdog than on Saturday.
MLB
St. Louis was swept at Pittsburgh and by losing seven of 10, the Cardinals are back in the NL Central cellar. The Redbirds’ outfield is depleted with injuries and this team is scoring 2.4 RPG in this downward spiral. The New York Mets looked like they had juiced their season with a sweep of Philadelphia they gave it right back in being swept by Toronto at home. Now the Mets have six tough games at Atlanta and Pittsburgh before the Yankees come to visit them.
The White Sox swept the Tigers at home. Saturday, Chicago won 2-1 on this play:
It was the first MLB game in the live-ball era (since 1920) in which at least three runs were scored, and all were either on a wild pitch or passed ball. This was from Elias Sports.
Texas wiped out Seattle 3-0. How good is the Rangers’ offense? Check this out…..

One of the top sportsbooks in Las Vegas is likely to make the Arizona Cardinals an underdog for all 17 games for the season. Obviously, that can change, but that is certainly of note and tells you what the new GM and head coach have ahead of them.Top Betting System
MLB – Tigers at Phillies (-230 ML or -125 RL)
Play Against underdogs like Detroit with a money line of +150 or more, after two straight games where they committed no errors, against an opponent after a game they hit four or more home runs. Since 2019, teams like the Tigers are 11-65 in this spot. If the money line is too rich for you, know that teams like Detroit are losing these 76 games by 3.4 RPG, making them an active RL play also.

Horse Racing - A Wild Story
Legendary bookmaker Roxy Roxborough posted this incredible story on Sunday on his Twitter account."100 years ago, on June 4, 1923, jockey Frank Hayes suffered a lethal heart attack in a Belmont Park race. Despite being dead, he remained in the saddle as his mount crossed the finish line to win by a head, thus becoming the first and only jockey to have won a race after he died."
WNBA – Top Match Tuesday
Vegas is 6-0 and Connecticut is 6-1. No line on the game yet, but this is a rare encounter.NCAAF- Big 12 Getting Bigger?
Rumors have emerged that Colorado is seriously thinking of returning to the Big 12. Over the weekend, Arizona has come to the forefront as another team that could leave the Pac-12.These should be taken as what they are, rumors, and if the Pac-12 finally signs at least an adequate TV deal that has an upside by adding San Diego State and others, none of this talk will matter.
But make no mistake, without naming Washington and Oregon, they likely are ready to bolt to the Big Ten unless something happens very soon for the Pac-12.
