The Canadien (spelling it as they do) Open is not high on most viewing lists but if you watched it Sunday, it was truly memorable. Take a look at two wild videos. Now the Oakland Athletics cannot lose, winners of five in a row.
For those that don’t believe in momentum, Exhibit A. We also have a great story from the Belmont along with top trends and a hot NBA system. Plus, some not-so-great news about NFL running backs and Conor MacGregor.
It looked like Vegas would roll over Florida once they built a 3-0 lead Saturday, but they literally had to find a way to cover every inch of the net to win 3-2 with a chance to win the Stanley Cup at home.

We thought it was cute when Oakland beat Pittsburgh twice. Then the A’s go into Milwaukee and sweep the Brewers to give them a FIVE-Game winning streak. In those five games, they picked up 9.62 units of profit!
The Arizona Diamondbacks scored five runs in the 8th and 9th inning to stun Detroit Sunday 7-5 and sweep the series. The D-Backs have won 11 of 13 and are tied with Atlanta with the best record in the NL at 40-25 and they are now the No. 2 best bet in baseball at +18.3 units.
The Miami Marlins were 5-1 this week and engineered two improbable wins over the White Sox on Saturday and Sunday to lift their record to 37-29 despite having a -20 run differential. Something like this happens every year and the Marlins are 17-5 in one-run games. While it is easy to be skeptical about the Marlins, one thing you know as a fan or bettor, Miami will play all nine innings hard and what else could you want?
Finally, a good story this week in golf. Canadien Nick Taylor was in a showdown with Tommy Fleetwood on the fourth playoff hill when this happened.
With Arcangelo winning the Belmont Stakes, Jena Antonucci became the first female trainer to have a winning horse in the history of the race or any Triple Crown race.
Here is her reaction.
Does Denver put Miami away and cover the number for their first-ever NBA crown? See what our NBA computers are predicting.
Is it possible the most fascinating series to start the week is Tampa Bay at Oakland? We’ll let you decide but still offer a boatload of free MLB picks on Monday and Tuesday!
In Game 5, Vegas is on the brink of its first-ever championship. Will it be a celebration or will there be a Game 6? Read what our NHL experts are picking.
From @OptsSTATS – Tonight Tampa Bay opens a series in Oakland. There is a 452-point difference in winning percentage between the Rays (.706) and Athletics (.254) is the largest going into any game (min. 60 GP) since July 3, 1932, when there was a 500-point difference between the Yankees (49-21, .700) and the Red Sox (14-56, .200).
Pro golfer Hadwin was so happy for his fellow Taylor, he went on the green to spray champagne on him. One problem, he was then dressed like anyone in the crowd, and a security guy saw a threat and you can see how it ended.
The highest levels of men’s tennis have never been less competitive. We thought that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were the greatest ever with 20 and 22 Grand Slams each between them. But by winning the French Open, Novak Djokovic now has 23.
Does that make him the best ever? That’s another debate and congrats to all three for their greatness, but little wonder the sport has dropped in popularity.
With no apparent deals coming for Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Tony Pollard, with the franchise tag being likely used, teams are abusing that rule.
With Dalvin Cook being cut, teams are unwilling to pay a running back who might not have his best years ahead of them, but will pay 15 million for a backup quarterback or an aging left tackle but not for one the premier players at his position.
Play Over on home teams when the total is 200 to 209.5 like Denver after a win by 10 points or more, against an opponent after a loss by 10 points or more. Since 2019, teams like the Nuggets are 26-6 Over with an average total score of 214.2 points.
Today we learned the Heat’s Tyler Herro has been upgraded to questionable. Can he or will he make a difference?
You wouldn’t think so with all the rust, especially on defense where Denver can pick and roll him or rub him off screens on back cuts. Nonetheless, still of note.
Will the Bucs play like an expansion team also?
McGregor was at Miami for Game 4 as part of a promotion for his pain relief spray. As you can see, instead of playfully going along, McGregor coldcocks a mascot.
