They're going to do a lot of damage this year. When Antonio Pierce took over last season, they finished with the #1 Defense in the league under him. They return all starters to that D, plus they added Christian Wilkins.

In the draft, they added Brock Bowers who was unstoppable at Georgia. Then they beefed up their O-Line with Oregon standout Jackson Powers-Johnson.

At QB, I expect Aidan O'Connell to be the starter. If you don't know about him, I suggest looking up this kid's life story. It's unbelievable. He was down and out his whole life and just kept fighting everything that came at him. The ultimate underdog story. He's going to be excellent.

Receivers are led by Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, running back is Zamir "Zeus" White who win a national championship at Georgia. But what really is going to make this offense a problem for defenses is their two tight ends Bowers and Mayer.

I expect Raiders to run a lot of 12 personnel or two tight end sets. This is going to open up everything for the offense and keep opposing defenses on their heels.

They are also going to run the ball a lot. Zeus is a hammer back who likes to punish defenders. There will be no defense in the league looking forward to playing against him.

Overall, I expect the Raiders to be the shock team of the season and go far this year. What further than anyone imagined.

First fight of training camp last night for the Raiders. LB Robert Spillane and rookie C Will Putnam got into it twice before Maxx Crosby came over and threw at least 3 punches to Putnam's head, ripped off his helmet, and threw it down the other end of the field ending the fracas.

Raiders are war ready.

I certainly don't. So someone explain to me how you have a QB competition and make the determination that the QB Zwith the 48.8 completion percentage beats out the QB with the 72.4 completion percentage.

O'Connell was way better than Minshew by any measure.
So in general, because he has a pleasing personality?

"Pierce said the decision to go with Minshew was made after consulting with general manager Tom Telesco and offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. "His personality is infectious, his energy is infectious, his leadership is infectious," Pierce said of Minshew."

Yeah this is nuts. He's only ever been a career backup. O'Connell is an amazing story. Was down and out his whole life. Tried out for the high school football team. Was last on the depth chart, barely made it.

Worked his way to starter, was not considered by any major colleges. Was going to go to a community college and his coach told him let me make a phone call.

Coach calls his boy at Purdue. Purdue gives him a shot but he had to walk on. Makes the team. Becomes 8th on Purdue's depth chart.

Whike he is in Purdue, his brother suddenly and tragically dies. Of course, this fukked him up beyond belief. Was saved mentally and emotionally by his wife who got him through.

Somehow works his way up to become Purdue's starter. Breaks Drew Brees passing record at Purdue. Gets overlooked in the draft.

Raiders take him in the 4th round. Was 3rd in the depth chart his rookie year. Became the starter.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say O'Connell will be the Raiders starter before the year is out. Only a moron would bet against this kid at this point.

9-8 or 8-9 AFC is loaded.
Raiders were the last team to beat KC. They can beat anyone. They added Brock Bowers and are going to play in two tight end sets.
.they are going to fukk a lot of teams up this year.

Put it this way....if they can average 22 points a game, that will be more than enough to win any game because that D is ferocious.

Raiders under 7.5 is a best bet for me. I live in LV and you only read about how the players love their coach and bring back the spirit of the Raiders. That "spirit" has them with the fifth fewest wins in the NFL since 2000. How often does it work out when the owner listens to the players to get a coach?
Teams do not win based on enthusiasm. Adams will start whining by game four, Trey Lance was better than either LV QB on Saturday night and the defense will ultimately start chirping too. The defensive backfield is their weak spot which will not hold up against their schedule.
I actually thought that enthusiasm would get them pre-season wins, but even that has not panned out and I actually like Minshew as a back-up. I don't see anything, but 3-6 through the first nine and then, regardless of talent, their man-love for Pierce will diminish and they will understand all they got was a rah-rah guy whose ceiling is as a position coach.

Bet Online has them over 6.5 for -140

I’d say that’s a fair price - and would be willing to wager the over.

The NFL is all about parity - assuming they can avoid a massive letdown - 7-8 wins seems right. Expecting double digits is fantasy. Minshew will be replaced by week 7.

They're starting him so they can trade him for a decent package once some playoff contender loses their QB.

Raiders ain't going anywhere this year imho, but say, if Baker got hurt or AR again, then maybe you get a 3rd & 4th in next year's draft and tank rest of this year for a top 5 slot.

KC going to regress in next 2-3 years, they're planning ahead.

I just checked my wager and it is under 7 and I got that at a local LV casino so probably got a hometown bonus of half a game. Just wanted to be accurate as I know most have 6.5 now.

Insane to me hiw anyone can think Raiders win less than 7 games this year.

This team won 8 games last season and has inlroved significantly this year.

Chargers and Broncos should be sweeps. That's wins right there. I'll give KC the benefit of a split even though I think Raiders sweep them, that's 5 just in the division.

Raiders will win more than 10 games this year.
