Saw in Daniel Negreanu vlog that he was broke and a guy loaned him $400 to get back in the game and he ran it up to $8000

Real friends are different than gambling friends

So id say......gambling friend

$400 for $1/2 live poker

$0 for sports betting....he/she can tell me games and if on a roll, ill give some winnings

$0 for online poker....want nothing to do with them

Happy to throw money between friends at a poker table when needed. Done it for a couple of posters and had it done for me by a poster when playing together in Vegas.

A few hundred is ok. As I won't let it bother me if I never saw that again. But would not loan serious money for gambling.

Agree.

I've always told anyone who asks that I don't lend or borrow. With the outlaw side of the family, which accts for 99% of loan requests, I'll tell them I'll give you a few honeys but no I ain't loaning ya nothing.

I've got to believe just about every gambler has a story about loaning a "buddy" money and not getting paid back. I'm in that boat. Learned my lesson but thought it was safe to loan a family member money.

I loaned my brother $ for a "sure thing" super bowl bet. Remember the 2008 Giants/Patriots game. Yeah....
He still owes me a couple of dimes off that one. I stopped bringing it up a few years later because it made for tense family gatherings.

Nothing wrong with some tension. He should pay up especially if it's a few years ago. I would keep putting it in his ear. Make him feel uncomfortable about it IMO
