Why do sportsbooks waste their money on celebrity pitchmen???

This topic popped in my head as I went to schedule this tweet....

Is there a single celebrity where you'd go: "Oh, so-and-so bets with THIS sportsbook??? I need to sign-up right away!!!"

I just feel like a lot of these books are wasting money on high-priced pitch people rather than investing back into the apps or handing out better bonuses/boosts

I always listen to celebrity endorsements.... They are smart people.
Just like in Oct 2021 when Matt Damon told me "Fortune Favors the Brave"... so I sunk every penny into BTC that day.






Of course I'm joking. I post this just to drive home the point celebrities are the worst kind of spokespeople. Look at Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank and his pitch for FTX.... Another complete disaster.
