While US Attorney Catherine Hanaway said her office was seeking to make the restraining order indefinite, in a separate courtroom, David Carruthers and the other defendants named in the federal indictment of BetonSports, pleaded not guilty to 22 counts of racketeering, fraud, tax evasion and unlawful gambling activities.
According to reports, BetonSports did not send a lawyer to the hearing, while the legal representatives of the former Chief Executive were hopeful that he will be granted $1m bail, albeit he will have to remain in the St Louis area while he awaits a trial which will be several months away.
