The Australian bookmaker increased its wagering turnover to $406 million, a 5.7% gain, with a win rate of 5.6% and a profit after tax of $5.9m for the periofd under review.
“Our active clients grew by 17 per cnet to 59.057 in the first six months,” said Managing Director Con Katafaris.
Centrebet also announced that the new SportsOdds website will be launched ahead of schedule and prior to the start of the NRL and AFL seasons.
Katafaris said SportsOdds will initially advertise in New South Wales, ahead of national Australian expansion subject to regulatory approval.
“The alliance with Fairfax Digital and the firsdt use of the wtite label capabilities of our Openbet wagering IT platform demonstrates Centrebert’s ability to deliver on its objective of working with third parties to build its wagering and related srevis business,” he added.
Centrebet started the new year strongly with a 6% win rate in January and the first part of February, and now the company looks at a full year growth of between 10 and 15 per cent with a net profit range of between $13m and 13.6m.
In other news, Australia’s largest gambling group Tabcorp said wagering turnover was down over $300m after the equine influenza shut down racing in New South Wales for four months causing a 8.9% slid in earnings to $130.8 million.
Elsewhere, Victoria approved interactive TV betting on horse races and sports, coming immediately under fire with critics saying the decision will increase notably the number of gambling addicts.
