As reported by the Financial Times, Hilton Group is to explore an initial public offering of Ladbrokes in the event that the £3.6 billion sale of its hotels division to Hilton Hotels Corporation does not happen.
A spinoff would make it easier for Ladbrokes to enter the US betting market. Until now the bookmaker has refrained to take internet bets in the US due to the risk of litigation because the legality of online betting in the US is unclear.
