Interactive Gaming Holdings has acquired the soccer betting specialist Premier Bet for a total consideration of £1m.

Premier Bet has been developed by a team with extensive experience in bookmaking, including ex-senior personnel from Victor Chandler and Zetters Football Pools.

The bookmaker, which commenced trading in May 2002, reported gross betting turnover of £24.7m in fiscal year 2004 and has over 36,000 registered users.

IGH, which operates a network of over one thousand websites in 30 countries, acquired Heathorns, the world\’s oldest established bookmakers, in March 2005.

The company\’s board believes there are good prospects to cross sell between the Heathorns and Premier Bet customer bases, while it plans to leverage the Premier Bet brand name into other betting markets beyond soccer to reduce the volatility of the gross win rate.
