Hilton Group confirmed to be in advanced talks about a £3.6 billion sale of its hotel business to Hilton Hotels, the US group from which it split in the 1960s.
The British company\’s shareholders would receive the cash and continue to own shares in a listed company, which would be renamed Ladbrokes and would continue to own the chain of betting shops.
City analists suggested that an independent Ladbrokes could be either a target for venture capitalists or looking to expand into the casino business.
