Real Madrid, FC Porto and PSV Eindhoven have filed complaints at the court of Liege in Belgium against Betfair, Unibet, BWin, Sportingbet, William Hil, Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler for unauthorized use of their names and images as well as unauthorized offering of betting services.
PSV spokesman Pedro Salazar said that the lawsuit in Belgium would act as a test-case.
“Across the whole of the internet domain, our commercial rights are being used and abused to allow them [the bookmakers] to make lots of money…we will no longer stand for it.”
