The company behind Boss Media-powered Casino-Club, the dominant online casino in German-speaking markets, reported a profit before tax of EUR 11.1m on revenues of EUR 21.3m for the first half of 2005.
Financial and operational highlights showed an handle of EUR 880m, 8,115 new depositing customers and a conversion rate after first registration of 62%.
Roulette is still the most popular game accounting for approximately 70% of all wagers placed.
New developments during the period included the soft launches of a Spanish casino website and a new poker website as well as the publication of two magazines.
The company is planning to replicate the winning Casino-Club approach into new markets, including Spain, Italy and Russia.
“We had an excellent first quarter supported by some initial marketing in Germany including the distributions of our magazine. During the second quarter we didnt spend as much as we had originally planned on marketing, which impacted our revenue figures. We have a major marketing initiative under way in the second half, which we anticipate will kick start revenue growth,” commented the company\’s CEO Steve Barlow.
