According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Senator Jon Kyl is going to take one more shot at banning online wagering in the US.
Sen. Kyl is hoping to address concerns of the horse racing industry by removing language used in the House version of the bill that would amend the 1961 Wire Act and outlaw internet betting across state lines.
If the modified version of the Kyl Bill is passed by the US Senate in the first two weeks after Labor Day, the House would quickly follow with its approval, a source close to the advocates of the ban told the newspaper.
In the meantime, Nevada regulators approved IGT license for mobile gambling, following up on a recommendation from the state Gaming Control Board.
