Sportingbet to sponsor the Euroleague Basketball

Euroleague Basketball has announced the signing of contract that makes the online betting group an official sponsor of Europe\’s premier basketball competition through the end of 2008-09 season.

The competition features 24 clubs from 13 countries per season and crowns its champion each spring at the Euroleague Final Four, one of the signature events of European sports.

“This sponsorship represents an ideal vehicle for Sportingbet\’s pan-European business given the almost identical geographical fit with Euroleague Basketball. This synergy also allows us to deliver a customer-centric approach by utilising our local brands in each territory,” said Matt Jellicoe, Sportingbet\’s European Head of Marketing.

“We believe that this agreement with Euroleague will raise the profile of our brands in all key markets and add even greater tangibility as we strive to strengthen our position in the European marketplace,” he added.
