Against all expectations, Venus Williams is for the 15th time in the final of a Grand Slam – her first since Wimbledon 2009. Adding to her outstanding overall record on major events, Serena also won 78.57% of the finals played throughout her career on Grand Slams. However, Venus was responsible for 33.33% of Serena’s 6 losses on Grand Slam finals.
Due to Serena’s brilliant campaign, the bookmakers expect a very easy match with the world no.2 available at 6/25 at 5Dimes while William Hill offers 4/1 for Venus’ victory. Even though we agree with Serena’s favouritism, this should be a much closer contest than the odds suggest, which makes the Over 20.5 at 19/20 at Ladbrokes the best betting approach for this final.
