Bertens vs. Giorgi
After a phenomenal performance against Angelique Kerber, Kiki Bertens is looking to extend her winning record in Paris however, Camila Giorgi won’t go down without a fight.
Giorgi started her campaign with a solid victory against Alize Lim, in a match where she was very solid on serve with an average of 0.22 double faults per service game, which is quite low for Camila since her career average is 0.73.
After losing eight consecutive matches against top 10 opponents, Bertens defeated two top 10 players in consecutive weeks – last week Roberta Vinci in Nurnberg and this week Angelique Kerber. The Dutch is a terrific clay court player and she’s going through a fantastic moment on her career.
Camila won their previous meeting yet, that match took place on grass where Giorgi is a much better player. On this slower conditions and with Bertens playing so well, the Dutch is fairly priced as favourite at 11/25 on Coral while Giorgi is offered at 2/1 on Bet365. Kiki should be too strong for her opponent and she should cover her game handicap -4.00 games at 93/100 on Pinnacle Sports.
Duque-Mariño vs. Keys
Looking to the matches scheduled for this Thursday on the women’s competition, Mariana Duque-Mariño and Madison Keys should feature a very interesting contest.
After reaching the final in Rome, where she only lost to Serena Williams, Keys is looking for another successful journey in Paris. Despite not being a natural clay courter, Madison has improved on this surface and she’s actually enjoying, with the clay courts giving more time for the American to prepare her massive forehand. On the first round, Keys was just too good for Donna Vekic, dismissing her opponent by 6 – 3 6 – 2.
Duque-Mariño also arrived in Paris after reaching a WTA final, last week in Nurnberg. The Colombian is for the third time on her career in the 2nd round of this event after defeating on the first round Daria Gavrilova yet, she was never able to go a step further so far, losing in 2009 against Jarmila Wolfe and in 2013 against Marion Bartoli.
With nothing to lose on this match, Duque-Mariño can be a very dangerous opponent and there seem to be some value on her price at 63/20 on Marathonbet while Keys can be found at 29/100 on William Hill. Looking at the markets available for this game, the highest value is clearly on the Over/Under, with the Over 19.5 games offered at 83/100 on Pinnacle Sports.
