The second round of the BNP Paribas Open Masters comes to an end this Wednesday in Paris. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Simon vs. Bautista Agut

Two players famous for their outstanding baseline game will face each other this Wednesday – Gilles Simon and Roberto Bautista Agut.

It hasn’t been easy for Roberto Bautista Agut to present his best tennis in recent weeks. After a very demanding year, the world no.15 already played 73 matches in 2016. Since his remarkable journey in Shanghai – with Roberto reaching his first ATP Masters 1000 final – the Spaniard suffered two disappointing losses on his debut in Moscow and Vienna against Alexander Bublik and Jurgen Melzer, respectively.

The 2012 BNP Paribas Masters semi-finalist – Gilles Simon – is looking for another successful journey in Paris. Known for his terrific counter punching skills, the game conditions in Paris clearly suit Simon’s game style. Gilles started his campaign this week with a tough victory over his fellow countryman, Julien Benneteau by 4 – 6 6 – 3 6 – 2. Looking now go Simon’s numbers, the highlight goes to his performance on pressure points, saving 87.50% of the break points he faced throughout the match.

These two players will face each other for the 5th time in their careers with Simon leading on the h2h by 3 – 1.

As we mentioned before, this should be a thrilling contest between two of the most consistent players in the game. Due to Agut’s demanding year and poor results in recent weeks, it won’t be easy for the Spaniard to present himself at 100% in the last tournament of the season. With this in mind, the value is clearly on Simon’s odds at 4/5 at William Hill while Bautista Agut is available at 107/100 at Pinnacle.

Sock vs. Thiem

Taking a look now to the other matches scheduled for this Wednesday in Paris, one of the highlights clearly goes to the contest between Jack Sock and Dominic Thiem.

Jack Sock is going through a terrific moment in his career with the American very close from breaking into the top 20 for the first time. Besides this, Sock is also the world no.11 on the doubles ranking, winning the Swiss Indoors Basel doubles title last week with Marcel Granollers. In the first round, Jack dismissed Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets, winning 77.05% of the points played on his serve.

After an incredible start of year, the last months haven’t been easy for Dominic Thiem. Adding to the fatigue, Dominic is also far from an expert on Indoor Hard Court. Before this event, Thiem said that he prefers to play on slower conditions and his numbers show it – 51.85% winning record on Indoor Hard Court vs. 70.97% on clay. This is Dominic’s third appearance on this event with the Austrian trying to reach the third round for the first time in his career.

This will be the 3rd career meeting between these two players with Thiem emerging victorious last year in Miami and earlier this year in Indian Wells.

Despite Dominic’s lead on the h2h, this time things should be different. Jack is currently at a much higher level and the conditions also benefit the American. Having said that, the value is definitely on Sock’s odds at 33/25 at Pinnacle while 5Dimes offers 13/20 for Thiem’s triumph.
