As reported by BloodHorse, the California Horse Racing Board is considering action to curtail the advertising and promotion of illegal offshore gambling operations by publications and broadcasters.
The CHRB referred the matter to its pari-mutuel operations committee for further study. Chairman Richard Shapiro said the board should work with other racing jurisdictions to stop illegal betting sites from stealing major revenues from the tracks and legal account wagering companies by offering rebates.
