The UK bookmaker opened its first Irish betting shop in Dublin, with the promise of at least six more to come. In a bid to attract the higher-stake punter,
“This is a key piece of the jigsaw and gives us a physical shop presence to reinforce our already strong position on the racetrack, on the telephone and online, with sports betting poker and casino,” said the head of Victor Chandler Ireland, Ian Marmion.
The Irish market is dominated by Paddy Power group, but the last five years have seen huge investments to improve the ambience and quality in the shops operated by Boylesports, another firm who aims at the top end of the market.
