The Bundesliga leaders have filed a complaint with the Federal Constitutional Court in an attempt to overturn the ban which has kept their main sponsor bwin.com off their shirts since July when the City of Bremen imposed a ban on the advertising of private betting firms.
“Until we have new regulations, Werder Bremen should be allowed to promote private betting firms,” the soccer club said on its website.
Elsewhere, the Spanish Government, which is currently revising the internet betting legislation, has admitted the complexity of the subject due to the recent regulatory developments and to the autonomous competences of the regional governments.
