The World Trade Organisation has set up a panel to investigate whether US restrictions on internet gambling comply with international trade rules. Antigua and Barbuda asked for the panel to be set up after claiming that since the WTO\’s original ruling the US has taken no measures to comply with the recommendations of the Dispute Settlement Body.
“The United States has been busy passing legislation that is directly and unequivocally contrary to the ruling,” Antigua told the WTO.
The panel has now 90 days to report on whether the US is complying with last year\’s WTO rulings.
