WynnBET continues to make some waves within the US legal sports betting industry. Their latest move is a multi-year sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies in a market they have had a strong presence in since December 2020.
WynnBET is showing no signs of slowing its expansion momentum within the US legal sports betting scene. They are major players in Colorado, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, Michigan, and New Jersey and have eyes on a yet-to-be-legalized Arizona market through the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
Colorado Rockies vice president of corporate sponsorships Walker Monfort said: “WynnBET is widely regarded as one of the premier sports betting operators in the country and we are incredibly excited to join forces to bring fans throughout the Rocky Mountain Region new and exciting ways to engage with Rockies baseball.”
Details
The Rockies/WynnBET deal follows the template of the rash of similar deals consummated between betting providers and pro sports teams in the US. For WynnBET it is about getting exposure in the Colorado market and for the Rockies, it is about enhancing their overall fan experience.
Signage at Coors Field will of course be a big part of the official partnership deal. WynnBET branding will be visible behind home plate at their home venue and have a presence on all the scoreboards in the building.
WynnBET’s, in return, will be offering perks for Colorado bettors using their app. The betting provider will be hosting premium hospitality events in and around Coors Field and offer up such promotional prizes as throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and taking part in on-field ceremonies. Users will also get a chance at Rockies game tickets thanks to their app’s Spin Wheel and get a crack at trips to Las Vegas.
What It Means for WynnBET
WynnBET will immediately get a whole lot more exposure in one of the most up-and-coming markets in the US. Having a presence on Rockies’ media outlets including social media channels, website, and its team page on the MLB Ballpark app should go a long way for the WynnBET brand.
“Our strategy as a company is to build partnerships and customer relationships that are enduring,” WynnBET CEO Craig Billings said in a phone interview with The Denver Post. “We view the Rockies as a multi-year opportunity to engage regularly with fans.”
Deals, Deals
It has become a bit of a trend for Colorado professional sports teams to team up with legal sports betting partners. Existing partnerships include BetFred and one of the two DFS giants teaming up with the Colorado Rockies as sports betting partners, the Denver Broncos aligning with BetMGM and the other DFS behemoth and both the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets signing on with PointsBet.
WynnBET, other than their Rockies partnership has a host of other partnerships under their wing. They include NASCAR, the Cincinnati Reds, the Detroit Pistons, and the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is hard to imagine WynnBET or other sports betting providers stopping the sponsorship gold rush anytime soon.
WynnBET Going Forward
The legalization of sports betting in the US has been on a torrid pace. With 22 states and Washington DC having their own platform and with nine others slated to come on board before the start of the NFL season, there is plenty of room to grow for WynnBET going forward.
WynnBET CEO Craig Billings recently commented: “Our first step was to go out and make sure we had the ability to get into various markets and we set out to launch in those states. We have a litany of product enhancements that we’ll be bringing to market ahead of the NFL season. As each new state comes on, I’m confident in our ability to compete.”
So, look for WynnBET to be a factor in the new states joining the US legal sports betting family and to also be looking to expand to existing legal jurisdictions. As exponential growth of legalization continues in the country, so too should WynnBET’s overall presence.
