Your offense isn't generating that many yards. You need to capitalize on the Red Zone drives:

1) At 24-17, I'm not sure what good a FG does. You still have to score a TD at some point. Just go for it on 4th down.
...Blocked FG. Very bad ref call denied the Alab return TD.
...24-20 wouldn't look good to me at all. Still need a TD.
...Just go for it. If you are stopped, you still have the field position.

2) Kicking the FG that late to get to 26-20?
...Again, it doesn't make sense. You're that close to the goal-line.
...Go for it. Try to score the TD.
...If you get it, you might be in a position to kick a long FG at the end of the game.
...As it was, you didn't get squat. And best you could hope for was Johnson throwing a Hail Mary into the EZ.
