BONDI BULLETIN

THE RED SHEET
OCTOBER 5, 2024 VOLUME 56 - NUMBER 6

Louisiana-Lafayette 49 - SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 20 - (7:00 EDT) -- Line opened at Louisiana-Lafayette minus 15½,
and is now minus 15. Hey any line movement in our direction, regardless of its size, is most welcome,
thus an appreciation for this slight nudge. Fact of the matter is that the Eagles of SouthernMiss are
rudderless, after losing both QBs (Edwards & Wiles) from a year ago, resulting in s 1-3 start SU, as
well as 0-3 ATS while ranking 119th, 123rd, & 122nd in total, scoring, & rushing offense. LaLa, by
comparison, has been superb, topping 32 pts in all 4 games, while ranking 36th & 44th in total offense.
RATING: LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 89

Tulane 41 - UAB 14 - (1:00) -- Line opened at Tulane minus 14½, and is still minus 14½. We're still kicking ourselves for
not coming on more importantly than a Red Sheet Near Choice, last week, when these Blazers were
destroyed, 41-18, by the Middies of Navy, with the Middies' 22nd-ranked "O" running all over UAB's
116th-ranked "D". Hardly gets any easier here, as the Green Wave of Tulane are cooking, entering
off a pair of 40+ pt efforts (41 & 45 pts, to be exact), including last week's 45-10 whuppin' of SoFla,
with 30-12 FD, 198-26 RY, & 330-175 PY advantages. All the elements are meshing nicely. Greenies.
RATING: TULANE 89

Indiana 45- NORTHWESTERN 13 - (3:30) -- Line opened a Indiana minus 13, and is now minus 13½. What a super
turnaround that these Hoosiers are enjoying, as they came from a 14-24 SU slide, to their current run
of 7-2 ATS, with their misses coming by 6½ & 1½ pts. And this year, they've posted a 244-65 SU run,
while ranking 9th & 8th in total "O" & total "D", with QB Rourke a solid 11/2 for the year. The Wildcats
will have their hands full in attempting to penetrate Indy "D", as they are averaging only 17.3 ppg,
while entering at 123rd in total offense. Not in the cards to buck this unstoppable Indiana run.
RATING: INDIANA 88

OREGON STATE 45 - Colorado State 14 - (6:30) -- Line opened at Oregon St minus 14, and is now minus 10½.
Apparently the public wasn't all that impressed with the Beavers' 38-21 win over Purdue, with 25-13
FD, 341-263 RY, & 104-53 PY edges, as the spread has moved to a more accommodating figure.
Losing 16 starters, including 10-of-11 on defense has seen Beavs unable to compete fairly with
such power as Oregon (49-14 setback), but can't ignore success against the lesser lights, winning &
covering vs any team not spelled O-r-e-g-o-n . Rams not the best roadsters, while OSt 13-4 ATS host.
RATING: OREGON STATE 88

Southern California 41 - MINNESOTA 17 - (7:30) -- Line opened at Southern California minus 9½, and is now
Southern California by 8. A rarity when Red Sheet Plays are accompanied with friendly line changes,
but somehow that has occurred 3 times on this week's publication. The Gophers & Trojans are both in
off late game success, with Minny a 21-3 4th quarter pt edge over Michigan. Ditto with Troy, which has
made it its modus operandi. As we noted on Pointwise, the Gophers ran only on Nevada, with their only
wins coming vs the statures of Rhode Island & Nevada. Only USC loss was by 3 pts at Michigan.
RATING: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 88

MINNESOTA VIKINGS 27 - New York Jets 17 - (9:30 AM @ Tottenham) -- Line opened at Minnesota minus 2½, and
is still minus 2½. Welcome to London. The Vikings have been a perfect play since the onset of the
pre-season, winning & covering All Seven games, with their 4-0 regular season run, their first such
start since 2016. The Jets, on the other hand, had nearly the same opportunity, after a pair of solid
wins, but could muster just 9 pts & 64 RYs in upset loss to the Broncos. Until things change, there is
no getting off of this profitable horse. With the spot barely under a TD, Minnesota definitely the play.
RATING: MINNESOTA VIKINGS 88

NEAR CHOICES (Rated 87): Army, Western Mich, Boise St, Navy -- NFL: Cincinnati, Carolina, New Orleans

THE RED SHEET

OCTOBER 12, 2024 VOLUME 56 - NUMBER 7

ILLINOIS 44 - Purdue 10 - (3:30 EDT) -- Line opened at Illinois minus 20, and is now minus 19½. Hey, we'll take it,
namely the ½ pt move in our direction. Just about every informed fan can figure the main reason for
this selection, & it isn't the underwhelming offense of the Illini, which has posted a season-high of just
31 pts in its OT win at Nebraska. However Illinois keeps finding ways triumph in the battle of the
spread, with its only SU loss of the season, coming in its 21-7 loss to #4 PennSt, holding the Lions to
season-lows in scoring, passing, & rushing. Purdue a 184-44 pt deficit in LGs year, with #120 "D".
RATING: ILLINOIS 89

PITTSBURGH 30 - California 13 - (3:30) -- Line opened at Pittsburgh minus 3½, and is now minus 3. To start with, note
that the host in Panther games was on a 10-1 spread run, before Pitt turned that trend on its ear, with
LW's 7½ pt cover at NoCarolina, with once again doing it behind the passing efforts of Holstein
(transfer from Alabama) who now stands at 313 PYpg & 15/3. The Bears are 7-12 ATS as the dog, &
are in off a 30-13 FD deficit, while ranking 83rd in total offense. As noted earlier, Cal lives by the
turnover, as the Bears rank 3rd in the nation with a +8 margin. With spread at a FG, take advantage.
RATING: PITTSBURGH 89

Boise State 63 - HAWAII 27 - (11:00) -- Line opened at BoiseSt minus 21½, & is now minus 20½. A respected member
of our staff is inordinately consumed by the power of the ½ pt on either side of a TD or FG, & after all
these years, we simply have to agree, especially with the spread on this one being a perfect example,
moving 3 TD spot our way. Whether or not the Warriors need it is another matter. The 17th-ranked
Broncos of Boise, are just a 3-pt loss at Oregon, from SU perfection, & should continue, behind the
weekly exploits of the land's top RB, as Jeanty owns 260 RY edge over his closest competitor. Rout.
RATING: BOISE STATE 88

NEW MEXICO 34 - Air Force 13 - (7:00) -- Line opened at New Mexico minus -3½, and is now minus 6½. Never in a
thousand years, did we could imagine the Falcons of Air Force, as a TD dog in this rivalry. The Lobos
have always been a bit sporadic, when it comes to their overland production, but never low enough to
take the field as the chalk vs the flyers. However, things have changed, most notably with the Falcons
as they returned exactly 6 starters from LY's bowl winning campaign, coming from 1st & 2nd in RYs
the past 2 years to TY's 58th & 131st in rushing & total offense, with 96-29 SU pt deficit in L3 gms.
RATING: NEW MEXICO 88

ARMY 70 - Uab 30 - (12:00) -- Line opened at Army minus 24½, and is now minus 25½. Cadets are the 2nd military
outfit to grace this week's publication, altho the reasoning is poles apart, with the Black Knights moving
to the top spot in the nation in rushing (361 RYpg). Army is now on a 7-0 spread run by 132½ pts,
as well as a 128-35 pt edge in its last 3 games. while climbing to the #9 slot in total "D". The Blazers,
on the other hand, have little competition in hurrying to the bottom of the run "D" barrel, where they've
settled at 126th in rushing defense (8th worst), allowing 227 RYpg. Appears huge spot is generous.
RATING: ARMY 88

Detroit 31 - DALLAS 20 - (4:25) -- Line opened at Detroit minus 3½, and is still minus 3½. Well, they're doing it again,
as the Lions are just a 4-pt loss to the Bucs, from arriving here with a perfect slate, something that
would match what Detroit QB Goff did in Lions' Monday win over the Seahawks. He was a spectacular
18-OF-18 for 292 yds, 2 passing TDs, along with a TD catch in that 42-29 win, which keeps the Lions
just a game behind the perfect Vikings, who are on a sweet 8-0 run, SU & ATS, when including the
preseason. Detroit has Minny up next week, therefore cannot afford any letdown of focus. Lion call.
RATING: DETROIT LIONS 88
