Pitching
It is a really even matchup today Castillo vs Valdez. Castillo hasn't got much history with the Astros batters so its tough to say how he will do. Framber Valdez has pitched twice against the Mariners this year, both times in late July, and gave up 3 ER each time.

• The first game the Astros left him in too long and he gave 3ER up in the 7th inning.
• The second game he gave up 3 in the 1st inning and then settled down for a good 6 innings of pitching.

Batting:
Both teams are hitting well of late. Astros have slight edge for the season but that's irrelevant for the playoffs.

Relief Pitching:
Slight edge to Astros 2.38 ERA vs 2.86 ERA for Mariners.



So if its such a close matchup why am I on this game?????

I have to believe that comeback by the Astros Tuesday took some steam out of the Mariners. They were up 7-3 going into the 8th. To lose the way they did had to hit them hard and take the wind out of their sail. Especially after being on a high from the two wins at Toronto last Fri/Sat.
