They were getting big chunks of yardage on screen passes and outs. That was their version of a running game tonight. Chiefs were basically in a prevent the whole game. You take what they give you in this league. The head coach is a boner. I am not a Charger fan and actually have liked Andy going back to the Eagles. I just recognize talent and give props when I see it. Herbert is a stud franchise QB and talentwise them and Buffalo are the better team but the best talent don't always win. Coaching and team chemistry will get you further. Just look at the Patriots all those years.
These Chiefs lines will start to get inflated for the average Joe-Schmoes who only bet good teams. No way I would fade Andy next week with extra days as he is one of the best coming off a bye as well. October is a brutal stretch of @Tampa, Raiders, Bills, at 49ers I will be looking at fading. Just a brutal week to week schedule. I will be shocked if they are 2-2 in those games. If they go 3-1 then they are worthy of your ranking. gL on your games this week and jump on the SOD POD if you are around tomorrow morning.
Yep and accordingly I'm not going to rank teams just on talent, though I believe Chiefs have the most talent top to bottom by a small margin. Felt that way last year too, though wasn't surprised Bengals upended them. They have a lot of other factors working their way as well, such as that chemistry and experience. That's going to help them against a tough schedule upcoming. They could go 2-2 but most likely 3-1. Chargers on the other hand have a nice college-level schedule lol so they should have a nice record. They gotta bank these wins. No duds.
Get what you're saying about Bills and Chargers, but the burden is on them to prove that they are the real deal. Too early to tell....the Chargers are not off to the best start in my view. The Bills are off to a nice start obviously, let's see how they handle the next couple of games to get a better look.
Finished up watching this game....Herbert didn't have a great game. It would have been a pretty crappy game if not for that gutsy last drive, albeit against a classic Andy Reid soft end of game prevent. Still that was tough given the shots he took. Lot of erratic passes though, questionable decisions - both QB's had a few of those, but Mahomes made waaaay more great throws.
Chiefs defense kind of grinded that win out for them in a way. Stepped up big time in late 3rd/early 4th. They were lousy offensively....but like I said earlier, the great teams win games like this.
