If the nephew is crazy, how come the judge grant him a restraining order? They wouldn't grant it without legal basis, right?
That's the problem w restraining orders & the new gun laws.
Anyone w a restraining order is red flagged and prohibited from gun ownership....regardless of the validity of the claim.
Now this is a weird circumstance because the claim is incest and minor abuse, but the result is the same. Martin's reputation is destroyed, his rights as it pertains to gun ownership now (but who knows, maybe voting rights or marriage rights or whatever in the future) are curtailed.
If this occurred to Joe 6 pack, it might be forgotten, until a potential significant other goes to the Courthouse to doxx him (Courthouse court filings ARE ALWAYS ONLINE, they don't dissappear unlike general public filings) and see this shit pop up and now he's gotta explain to a skeptical lover.
Judges used to always be wary of granting orders like this, now w more & more women and liberals on the bench, they sign off on them no questions asked, damn the consequences to anyone if the angry spouse, scorned lover or crazy child is lying.
It's ridiculous and emotional judicial oversight.
