Agreed. We should look on the positive side. We got ONE back. Granted we need to still work to hard get Whelan but I guess when you're dealing with the Russians, you take what you can get.

I would have loved to have gotten back Whelan as well he deserves to come home as much as Griner did and probably even more.

I am sure Biden and the team doing these negotiations wanted them both and tried I mean does anyone actually think Biden wanted to leave a Marine behind? The ins and outs of these things are often layered deep and sometimes you just have to make the deal you can make at the time.

Russia is playing the leverage game here as well so they were only going to bend so far. A deal for Whelan may have not even been an option from their end of things considering his military status.
