This is partly because companies have been allowed to short workers for far too long and its past time wages increased. People are not lazier they are smarter they realize they should be better compensated. Why should an ordinary worker make only 10 bucks an hour for a day's work when the CEO and Presidents of the companies make millions and on top of that gets millions in stock options and bonuses? Company profits soar u still make the same 10 bucks but they are buying jets and yachts.

But the worker shortage isn't only about minimum wage and wages in general. Today people can find alternate employment much easier than in the past. People can work for themselves doing things like Youtube and live streaming. The pandemic showed hundreds of thousands the way and it stuck and now more than ever before people are finding it easier to work for themselves.

Hell if u have a cell phone (and we know everyone does) you can become a live streamer on a platform like Twitch and have your own business up and running in weeks. Hardly any start-up cash is needed. The digital space is changing the job world today.

Making money online is not as easy as it looks
Lots of hard work , being smart , engaging, etc
Most make peanuts and have jobs

It's a whole whole lot easier than it used to be. But it is a job and not a get rich quick scheme so it does take effort and working the necessary hours. Sure if you are going to slack and not do the work u are going to make peanuts etc.

It's not for everyone of course but plenty are doing it and making good cash. I know 4 people who have gone into youtube and or other streaming platforms now leaving good jobs and all are making more money working in a much better atmosphere. Hell, one guy I know does fishing content now so he is actually making a really fair sum to do what he rather do every day anyway. Another streams live golf play and his content earnings are building by the month.

The new generations are into watching online content and it's time to take advantage of it for as long as it lasts. It's way better than working for someone else and making them rich.

You make some very valid points. When these people you speak of move on, to work for themselves, some leave jobs that's a move up for others and this should push the biggest short fall to lower paying jobs.
Another thing that is happening when they leave their jobs, like in the medical field you need qualified people, to fill those jobs, and sometimes there is not enough people with those qualifications to fill them.

Agree, I have followed a farmers channel living in the mountain and his content is about planting, harvesting and cooking and gained a lot of followers and viewers, It does;t matter where you are right now as long as you have good content you'll gonna get good money from it.
