Why didn’t the Heat have Zeller or Love down in the paint for a God damn rebound ? Reminds me of game 5 when the Bucks fired coach took out Brook Lopez for the final play & Jimmy made an alley oop lay up for the win to end the series. You need your bigs in there on those final plays common sense.
I watched the play at least 6-7 times wondering the same thing. They had Struss double teaming Tatum at first with no one guarding the inbounder. Once Smart got the ball Struss was running around aimlessly out of position to do anything.

Going for 7th win in last 8 posted plays...........
I believe The Celtics have all of the momentum now and it is becoming a Tidal Wave that will crash out on Memorial Day Monday's Game 7 "Massacre" to mimic the 1984 game where the Celtics beat the Lakers by 34 points putting up a whopping 148 pts when those types of scores were extremely rare.
Anyhow, Game 6 in Miami looks to be a major battle but I think the Celtics prevail by 3 pts or more.............
(BTW no longer posting across the street. that place has gone downhill way too fast. no thanks)
i have been following the NBA playoffs religiously since 1985 (the year the celtics beat the lakers 148-114 the memorial day massacre but they lost the finals).
i am not new to this racket.
*most* of the time yes, momentum does not carry, but we saw G6 mo carry in the boston v philly series into G7 and you have just witnessed it 3 straight games.

Agreed momentum is a thing in the playoffs because playoff series can change on a dime. This series flipped when Miami lost game 4. I said that would be something they regret because it gave Boston life when they should have been put out of their misery. Boston seized momentum and won games 5 and 6 with their backs against the wall so I agree momentum is a thing in the playoffs.

once boston (the higher seeded team who is more talented man for man and made the finals LY) won Game 4, they knew they'd have G5 and (potential) G7 at the garden. once they believed they could win in south beach, everything changed.
first team in NBA history to have a G7 at home after starting out 0-3.
history will be made tomorrow. it already has been in one way but more is on the way tomorrow.

I'm not so sure Denver wins against Boston. Yes they do have a better team on paper and yes they are the more rested team coming into the series but Boston will have home court advantage and I think that a Boston vs Denver series will go 7 games so that will be huge. Obviously Boston hasn't played well at home but I think people writing them off are making a mistake and they love proving doubters wrong.

Home court is a big deal for Denver. That's why Nugget fans wanted the Heat to win because they will have home court against the Heat. If Boston wins it's not a guarantee Denver wins because they simply aren't as good on the road even though they took two in LA from the Lakers. Boston hasn't been great at home so they can't afford to fall behind 2-0 in the Finals like they did against Miami so I expect them to play a lot better at home in the Finals against Denver.

It's a big deal in the sense that Denver is the best home team and has an advantage there
I don't think Boston has much of an advantage at home at all
They're not the type of team that can just "turn it on". They're just inconsistent by nature. They're gonna play like shit some games, and they're gonna play well others.
It's who they are, who they've always been. That's why they can't break through, and why they likely won't yet again

Boston has been through some really tough series and survived. Denver hasn't really been tested yet. I think they will be against Boston which is why I lean Boston in 7.

I think Denver takes game 1 because I expect Boston to be physically and mentally exhausted from the Miami series but after that I expect it to be game on. It'll be a competitive series and I don't expect Denver to just roll like other people seem to right now.
