It’s the biggest waste of time & money in all of sports - pure garbage
As a prolific WNBA bettor for decades now, I disagree.
It's been a good sport to bet on, but a little tricky, not unlike the CFL.

Yes I agree If you/anyone can make money on it betting I understand completely how one can have a different perspective
But all betting aside & looking at it as a sport, it is horribl
Break it down this way…
Imagine a world in which we didn’t have professional football, basketball, or baseball and had to depend on watching junior high kids our entire lives
That’s the equivalent of the WNBA
They can’t even beat elite 12 to 13-year-old boys
I would consider female softball, tennis, golf, gymnasts, and players from other sports an exception as special athletes who would kick our azzes in those sports
But that’s not the case in basketball as I assure you we could field a team from this forum who have played sports which could beat WNBAers
In some other sports a woman can improvise and get by if facing a male But in basketball a female simply cannot even get shots off on men as we are too quick, too fast, too physical, and jump too high. All those reasons being why it’s not appealing watching women try to play this sport.
I do wish I knew more about it handicapping-wise like yourself kvb and couple of others on here who follow it (tanko?)

Funny you write that at the end of a season which saw 6 different networks set ratings records.
Even if it was all about Clark.
I'm not even going to bother to mention the economy that traveled with just one WNBA team this year and that followed a college team from arena to arena just a year ago.
Even if the entire audience were little girls, those that actually watch the sport disagree with you about it being appealing to watch.
Nike, New Balance, Hershey, etc also disagree with you given the money they are shelling out. Will they find it was a waste of money, like Collin Kap was? Maybe, but right now the momentum is as high as it's ever been and that reaches younger girls who will then end up playing in college and then pro.
The talent pool is on the rise, NIL will help with popularity, and the women's pipeline is pretty solid.

Yeah i have no problem with there being a fan base
It’s just like any other sport in which some like or do not
I’ll reiterate that I do very much enjoy women’s softball, tennis, UFC; and other sports
But in basketball I have no interest in watching these women take set shots, layups, and missing layups, compared the acrobats of the men
Maybe try not to compare it to the NBA. It's not the NBA, it's the WNBA.
