Overall : 5 - 15 ( - 14.93 units )

The Slovenia / Serbia game has Serbia as big favs. I agree that they should be slight favs but not interested in backing them at that price.

England vs Denmark has the same feel to it. Watching England against Serbia just reminded me why England have been trophy less for 58 years. You have a sound game plan to start and reap the rewards of your high press by scoring in the 13th minute. 5 minutes later they are sitting back in their own half and allowing Serbia to gain ball control and confidence , while narrowly hanging on. To have so much talent at your disposal and ask them to play out of character and defend in numbers.....
Terrible game management imo

Spain vs Italy @ 3pm is one of those games that you circle on your calendar as must see.

Time for me to be more selective.

Good luck today, Franz.

I'm looking at the H2H. Another close game? or do you think it will end up in another penalty shoot-out?

We got some great games today. The later one is the highlight by far.

@Franz555 As you mention, England seems loaded with talent. I'm hoping Denmark makes it exciting. I'd really like to see a little pressure put on the Three Lions in this tourny.

I'm not really cheering for England in any way. I just feel that this is the most talented team , with loads of individual skill , that England has ever produced. Let the kids play and unleash all that talent. Playing as they are will NEVER win them a trophy imo

Its ludicrous to think that FIFA can stop people from chanting racism or obscenities. Just go to any English League game and you can experience it first hand. This is nothing new to football
Right? not sure how FIFA is going to handle this moving forward.

However, I read a news about Vinicius the other day where a few chanters were punished with imprisonment under the Spanish court for racist chants.

Maybe FIFA can't do anything but local courts can.

I've heard of FIFA penalizing Mexico for "punta" chants on goal kicks. I believe they made Mexico play two home games without fans or something like that.

But, as Franz said, how do you really control this type of thing. They have to try something to safe face with the public but FIFA is really hamstrung on action they can take.

Also, Spain putting people in jail for racist chants is interesting. That would never happen in several other countries due to "free speech" laws. I wonder how much of an impact that will have.

@Franz555 do you know Diamond Jack across the street?
Any impressions? He seems very knowledgeable on soccer too.
DJ and I have been to a number of Toronto FC games together over the years. Beers and Wings in the city he lives in ( where I raised my kids and played soccer). About 12 years ago he took me under his wing, so to speak , and educated me on a number of helpful sites and techniques. Absolutely a knowledgeable and all around great guy.

You read them perfectly. It happened again today in the Denmark game. England looks great, gets a score, and then appears to ease up allowing Denmark to tie it up. Granted it was a spectacular shot by Morten Hjulmand from 20+ yards for Denmark but, England had let up on the attack.

Exactly

The 2nd half ended with England on their heels and Denmark gaining confidence by the minute. If you bought one of the finest cars in the world , say a Maserati , and you never exceed 70km. WHY ? You have a team full of gazelles , let them attack and run wild. Don't keep them caged
