GROUP F :

1. Portugal ( 6 )
2. Turkey ( 40 )
3. Czech Rep. ( 36 )
4. Georgia ( 75 )

I really like Portugal to be one of the front runners in this years tournament. They have a team packed with talent at every position , all of which are playing in top leagues across Europe. Players like Jota , Silva , Ramos , Mendes , Leao , Vitinha , Concelo.... just to name a few. Georgia , a small country with a population of 3.7 million , are here for the 1st time and it would be huge if they could even get a draw here. Turkey and Czech Rep will play each other for the right to advance with Portugal to the knockout stage , but I don't see either making a splash beyond that.

Since several coaches are waiting until the last possible moment to announce the final squad of 26 , I will wait until Saturday to start the wagering.

As Tanko mentioned earlier , what a great way to start your day with a coffee and early action from Europe. Cant Wait

Props, Franz. Will post random comments:

*Slovenia always looks like an outsider to me. Consider Yugoslavia dissolving. SLOV is a very small nation of 2mill people.

*How pumped do you think GERM will be to perform on Home soil? I think Germany is live. But Euro HFA normally isn't as big as the HFA in Africa/SoAmer/Concacaf.

*Very good notes from you re: Belgium. You do see managers hold onto Golden Generation players too long. Happened with Italy, who eventually looked like a Dinosaur.

Just checked :

Albania has 1 cut to make
Poland 3 cuts

The other 22 teams are set
Franz, props on all your information. I will be using this thread as a reference.

Question: How much stock do you put in the Nations League games?
...Do you regard them as equivalent to the Qualifiers for Euro/WorldCup?

Here's my stance. The top players already play a ton of games in Domestic League + Cup games. International Qualifiers have real substance.

What about the Nations League? It's a new event. I get the feeling that the players would rather be resting than playing in Nations League.

I think you're bang on. The games serve no real purpose to the players

Franz, full respect for your Soccer knowledge.

I have watched a few Prediction/Simulation videos. Wanted to report back to you:
*Seems like PORTUGAL is getting a lot of love to Go Deep or Win this Euro.

I know they're producing many good young players. A few things come to mind:
1) Port being contiguous to Spain, the Iberian peninsula tends to produce quick smallish players. That can work. But they sometimes are not as good as aerial threats. Any merit to this as a shortcoming?
2) How do you see CRonaldo fitting into this team? Will he be in the starting 11 for sure? Do you see him being more effective as a sub?

It's funny that they did beat FRA to win the Euros after CRonaldo exited with injury.

Any feel for whether you'll be high on PORTUGAL? I know they've been mentioned a lot in the videos.

Ramos unseeded Ronaldo during the last W/C in England, 2022. He made such an impact that PSG acquired him to play alongside Mbappe and Dembele. With Leao also coming into his own @ AC Milan and Jota of Liverpool being a regular sniper , why even use up a spot with Ronaldo ? His antics in 22 , making it all about him and not the team, should have sealed his exit 2 years ago imo
