Long enough to remember when Walmart used to be Hipermas, and there was no high speed internet available at the beach. SBR's wasn't in the new building they built yet. The new stadium wasn't there. Del Ray was incredibly popular. The "Brothers" had a nice operation going on. Great memories. I'd do it all over again, too. I made many life-long friends, and fully plan on retiring there.

No but from the age of 10-15 I grew up around a lot of Italians on my block and they were a big influence on my personality even to this day.

Wow! I can tell that's a lot of time. But why do you need to return to the US if you're planning to retire here?
